Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • valid driver’s license
  • universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • meet applicable state and federal certification or licensing requirements
  • able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • capable of working with engineering computer programs
  • follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
  • experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
  • valid driver’s license
  • universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • knowledge of safety and security policies
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Respond to guest repair requests
  • communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
  • visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts
  • display proficiency in air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other systems
  • repair or replace PVC and copper piping
  • troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing and electrical equipment
  • program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties
  • assist with surface preparation, painting, drywall, and wood trim repair
  • use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work
  • perform mid-level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • train and mentor other engineers
  • perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
  • follow safety policies and complete safety training
  • properly store flammable materials
  • maintain cleanliness and professionalism
  • welcome and assist guests
  • develop positive working relationships
  • move and lift equipment up to 50 pounds
  • use stairs, ramps, and ladders
  • enter and locate work-related information using computers
  • perform other reasonable duties
