Job Description
We are an independently owned boutique hotel located in the vibrant and culturally rich East Austin neighborhood. Known for our award-winning personalized guest service and meticulous attention to detail, our hotel offers a unique experience that sets us apart from larger chains. As a small business, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere not only for our guests but also for our team members. Our boutique hotel emphasizes quality and individuality, attracting visitors who appreciate an intimate and authentic stay. We value team members who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and who thrive in a small, collaborative working environment.
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Office Manager to join our dedicated team. This leadership role is critical to maintaining the smooth, efficient daily operation of our property. As the Office Manager, you will take ownership of the processes and systems that keep our boutique hotel running seamlessly. We provide hands-on training and continuous support from an experienced manager as you transition into the role and grow your responsibilities.
The Office Manager will oversee front desk and client-facing operations, ensuring that service standards are consistently executed. You will also be responsible for managing customer service processes, inventory, procurement, and general office administration. Supervising the front desk supervisors and staff is a key part of this position. This role contains elements familiar to those who have managed a reception or client-facing team in other settings such as medical or dental offices, salons, real estate offices, gyms, or similar environments, so prior hotel experience is not mandatory.
Your duties will include sharing manager-on-duty responsibilities, overseeing day-to-day property operations, supervising scheduling and booking management, and resolving escalated customer issues. You will also be tasked with maintaining organized office systems, overseeing petty cash management, payroll preparation, and scheduling housekeeping and maintenance coverage to maintain the property’s high standards. Delegation and accountability are core aspects of this hands-on leadership role.
A typical work week involves 30-40 hours on-site with set schedules, including one weekend shift weekly and possible holiday coverage. Shifts run from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm or 12 pm to 8 pm, with no overnight shifts required. There is also the opportunity for on-call and after-hours paid customer service coverage. We provide free street parking to our employees.
This position requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to supervise and train a team, strong computer proficiency, and experience with budgets, inventory, and purchasing is preferred. Candidates must have at least one year of residency in Austin with knowledge of the local area, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Passing a background check is also mandatory.
Joining our team means working in a respectable and supportive environment that offers competitive salary, merit-based wage increases, performance bonuses, and the chance to be part of a truly special boutique hotel community. If you are motivated to contribute to a small business and grow professionally, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop your leadership skills while engaging directly in the heart of hotel operations.
