Job Description
The Light Park is a premier destination known for delivering one of the most dynamic and high-volume drive-thru holiday experiences in the United States. Famous for its spectacular Christmas Light and Music Show featuring DJ Polar Ice, it offers an immersive, festive environment that attracts visitors from the Greater Dallas area and beyond. Operating on a seasonal contract basis from August or September through January, The Light Park successfully blends the holiday spirit with cutting-edge entertainment and operational excellence. With a focus on quality, guest satisfaction, and safety, it represents a unique niche in the holiday entertainment and hospitality industry. The company’s commitment to operational precision and vibrant guest experiences underscores its reputation as the country’s most exciting seasonal attraction in its category.
This role of General Manager at The Light Park is a remarkable opportunity for seasoned leadership professionals eager to helm a high-energy, fast-paced holiday event. The role is contract-based, spanning approximately five months during peak holiday season, with compensation comprising a $20,000 base salary alongside up to $30,000 in performance bonuses paid weekly and at the end of the season, highlighting the potential for substantial earnings based on operational success. The General Manager will be integral to orchestrating the entire operation, from overseeing profit and loss responsibilities to ensuring seamless show quality and a compelling guest journey. The job is hands-on and demands active leadership, sharp business acumen, and strategic foresight to drive attendance, optimize operational performance, and achieve revenue growth. Leadership extends beyond logistics to inspiring and cultivating a winning team culture centered on accountability, guest-first orientations, and energetic execution in a condensed, high-pressure seasonal window.
Key responsibilities include full ownership of operational functions such as managing labor, vendors, and expenses against established budgets, ensuring safety and brand consistency, and elevating food, beverage, and merchandise quality. The role also requires adept handling of real-time challenges including weather disruptions and traffic management to maintain smooth guest experiences. Additionally, the General Manager will spearhead recruitment, training, and development of seasonal teams, emphasizing performance coaching, morale, and staff engagement to sustain operational momentum through the season. Strengthening community ties and executing localized marketing efforts in collaboration with corporate marketing initiatives will drive brand visibility and attendance. Monitoring and reporting key performance indicators related to attendance, revenue per vehicle, labor costs, guest feedback, and operational throughput will inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
The position demands strategic planning strengths to lead pre-season set-up, staff ramps, and readiness assessments, as well as post-season dismantling and storage. Forward-looking leadership is essential to build scalable practices for future expansions, contributing to The Light Park’s long-term growth across multiple locations. This role is ideal for individuals who bring a blend of operational rigor, business strategy, and a passion for creating memorable holiday experiences at scale.
