Position: Sous Chef / Junior Sous Chef
About: Elm City Social, an upscale restaurant concept in New Haven, CT, is seeking a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef to join their kitchen team. They value passionate individuals who take pride in exceptional service and aim to provide professional leadership while maintaining high-quality standards in their kitchen operations.
Requirements: High school or equivalent; minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospitality role, preferably in a full-service and/or upscale restaurant concept; comfortable working a station on the line through much of the shift; good knife skills and prep ability; ability to supervise, coach, develop, lead, and motivate employees; establish, maintain, and enforce consistently high performance standards; adapt leadership style to different situations and scenarios; effective communication and English language proficiency; quick information processing and knowledge transfer to ensure quality standards are consistently met
