Position: Sous Chef job
About: The Sous Chef position at Harvard Kennedy School Kitchen involves working under the Executive Chef’s direction, overseeing culinary aspects of catering services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing operational aspects for high-quality service. The role reports to the Executive Chef and General Manager and is based in Massachusetts.
Requirements: Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience; HS Diploma or equivalent and specialized training in Culinary Arts; Minimum of two years progressive culinary management experience in a collegiate residential and/or restaurant environment; Strong communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Ability to become ServSafe Certified within six months of employment; Associates Degree in Culinary Arts; Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; Experience managing in a unionized environment; Knowledge of Kronos timekeeping software or similar system; Passion for food and knowledge of current food trends; Ability to deliver exceptional customer service; Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; Ability to work collaboratively with a team; Good professional judgment and decision-making skills; Ability to remain calm in stressful situations; Adaptable to changing environments; Upholds professional ethics and integrity; Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and applications
