Job Requirements
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, business administration, or related field
- Five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in planning, development services, or customer service program administration
- Knowledge of municipal planning and permitting processes and relevant laws
- Ability to coordinate, resolve conflicts, and provide high-level customer service
- Capability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to work in office and travel to sites
- Willingness to work extended hours including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, engineering, architecture, public administration, business administration, or related field
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional experience in planning, development services, or customer service program administration
- Knowledge of municipal planning and permitting processes
- Familiarity with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and relevant federal and state laws
- Strong skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and project management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate across departments and resolve conflicts
Job Duties
- Serve as a liaison and coordinate development projects with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Assist applicants through city planning and permit review processes
- Facilitate resolution of complex customer inquiries and development-related issues
- Communicate clearly and effectively with applicants, developers, and review authorities
- Balance regulatory requirements with business-supportive practices to expedite project delivery
- Provide high-level concierge-style customer service to residents, businesses, and developers
- Manage multiple development and economic development projects independently
