The company is widely recognized for its dedication to associate satisfaction and professional growth, as demonstrated by its Great Place to Work certification. Employees at FirstService Residential benefit from competitive salaries, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, and a supportive work environment that encourages career advancement and continuous learning.

The role of Janitorial Technician at FirstService Residential involves maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment within various buildings and facilities. This position is critical to ensuring the overall cleanliness and upkeep of restrooms, common areas, offices, and other community spaces. The Janitorial Technician performs routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, washing walls and glass, shampooing rugs, and removing trash. Beyond cleaning, the role includes identifying maintenance needs, reporting repair requirements to management, and supporting the setup and removal of decorations and furniture for community events. The successful candidate will interact regularly with residents, requiring a courteous and pleasant demeanor to foster a positive community atmosphere.

This is a full-time position with scheduled hours from Thursday to Monday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, though hours may be adjusted to meet business needs. The compensation for this role ranges from $18.00 to $18.50 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and specific responsibilities. Working conditions can vary and may involve exposure to outdoor weather, chemicals, noise, and physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and prolonged standing or walking. Safety precautions must always be observed during work activities.

The Janitorial Technician position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow both oral and written instructions, and competency in completing administrative tasks like filling out logs and requisitioning supplies. Candidates should have at least one year of janitorial or custodial experience, a high school diploma or GED preferred, and possess a valid California driver’s license with state-mandated insurance. Furthermore, the role may involve driving within and outside the community and using standard janitorial tools and equipment.

Overall, this role offers a dynamic work environment where individuals contribute directly to the quality of life for residents by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming community. FirstService Residential supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision plans, 401K matching, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, pet insurance, legal services, and emotional wellbeing support.
