Job Description
Pacific Hospitality Group is a family-focused hospitality company dedicated to creating long-term value for investors and team members through its owner/operator business model. This approach allows the company to hold properties for the long term, fostering sustainable growth and expanding opportunities for both its portfolio and workforce. Rooted in strong ethical principles, Pacific Hospitality Group commits to enriching lives by delivering memorable guest experiences, contributing back to the community, and honoring values centered on integrity and respect. With a clear vision of principled entrepreneurship and customer focus, the company upholds high standards of compliance, humility, and fulfillment in all its endeavors.
As a part of this esteemed group, the People & Culture Manager position plays a pivotal role in driving the human resources strategy at the hotel level. The manager is responsible for leading all facets of the People & Culture function, including recruitment, onboarding, employee training, engagement initiatives, performance management, and policy compliance. This role demands a proactive and strategic approach to talent acquisition, ensuring the continuous development of a high-performing, guest-oriented team. The manager works closely with hotel leadership to build a robust talent pipeline that aligns with Pacific Hospitality Group’s brand standards and long-term business goals.
In this role, the People & Culture Manager owns the employee lifecycle from the moment a candidate accepts an offer through to retention and career development, emphasizing an exceptional onboarding experience and ongoing team member support. The manager serves as a key business partner by fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and service excellence among all departments. Additionally, this position includes responsibility for administering system access for new hires and exits, coordinating compliance with Marriott brand and company policies, and maintaining adherence to employment laws to safeguard both the company and its employees.
The People & Culture Manager also leads various training programs, such as Marriott brand training and property-specific operational training, and ensures timely completion of required certifications. By analyzing guest feedback, audit outcomes, and performance data, the manager identifies opportunities to enhance both the guest experience and employee satisfaction. Employee engagement is another core area, with initiatives including recognition programs, communication strategies, surveys, and retention tactics designed to cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
Further, this leadership role involves coaching managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations to drive continuous improvement. The People & Culture Manager embraces a hands-on approach to handling performance documentation, corrective actions, and coaching plans while promoting a collaborative atmosphere that aligns with the company’s cultural values. This position requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Marriott systems experience is preferred, along with strong presentation and facilitation skills for leading training sessions. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about creating a rewarding employee experience that supports Pacific Hospitality Group’s mission and growth trajectory.
