Job Description
San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, located on the famous River Walk in San Antonio, Texas, is a premier hotel known for its exceptional services and luxurious accommodations. This well-established hospitality establishment prides itself on delivering an outstanding guest experience by maintaining the highest standards in its facilities and property operations. As part of the Marriott International brand, the hotel offers a world-class environment blending comfort, elegance, and convenience in one of the most vibrant urban districts. The hotel’s commitment to excellence extends beyond guest interaction to the meticulous care of its infrastructure, ensuring every detail is maintained to perfection for the ultimate guest satisfaction.
The position available is a full-time, non-management engineering role based at San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. This role is crucial in supporting the hotel's facilities by responding rapidly and effectively to guest repair requests and conducting preventive maintenance tasks. The hourly pay rate for this role is $28.30, reflecting the value of specialized engineering skills required. The engineering team operates as a vital component of the hotel's operations, performing complex repairs and maintenance across a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. This role requires individuals with strong general mechanical aptitude and proficiency in areas like air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, and kitchen equipment among others. Maintaining communication across shifts and ensuring that daily activities and problems are well documented is essential for smooth operations.
This engineering role demands advanced knowledge in reading blueprints and electrical schematics specific to plumbing and HVAC systems, along with the capability to perform tasks independently or with minimal supervision. Safety is paramount, so adherence to lockout/tagout systems and other safety protocols is a key responsibility. Engineers in this role need to manage parts inventory and requisition materials as needed to maintain operational flow. They are also expected to train and mentor junior engineering staff when required and handle Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including system readings and rounds.
Candidates must be adept at troubleshooting all types of hotel equipment such as pumps, motors, air conditioners, electrical appliances, and electronic systems. The role also involves exterior and interior surface preparation and painting, highlighting a broad skills base beyond traditional engineering tasks. The candidate must be physically capable of handling various physical tasks including lifting, moving objects up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and performing tasks that require bending and twisting.
Overall, this position represents an excellent opportunity for experienced hospitality engineers who are dedicated to maintaining high standards and ensuring guest satisfaction through expert facility maintenance. The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter encourages a collaborative working environment fostering positive relationships among team members to meet collective goals effectively.
