Job Requirements

  • Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification required
  • Ability to lift, move, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to climb stairs, ramps, and ladders
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Adherence to safety and security policies
  • Ability to work full time onsite at San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter
  • Ability to use engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance and energy management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Vocational or technical background preferred
  • Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • Ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Strong general mechanical ability
  • Proficiency in multiple engineering disciplines
  • Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools
  • Experience with maintenance inventory and requisition systems

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • Communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
  • Display proficiency in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management
  • Safely perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment and program TVs
  • Use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance
  • Train and mentor other engineers
  • Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and report hazards and accidents
  • Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • Welcome and assist guests according to company standards
  • Adhere to quality expectations and standards
