The role of Event Strategy Manager on the Event Management team offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of strategic planning and tactical event execution within one of the world’s leading financial institutions. Reporting to the Americas Head of Event Management, the Event Strategy Manager plays a critical role in supporting event strategy through advisory support and overseeing the execution of numerous high-profile events and conferences. These events are central to Goldman Sachs’ ability to maintain its brand image and nurture key client relationships globally. The position is designed for achievement-oriented, creative individuals with strong leadership qualities and the ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment. This role requires someone who is adept at managing a portfolio of events with a focus on commercial excellence, consistent delivery, risk management, and innovation.

Key responsibilities include partnering with global counterparts to manage business strategy for events, budget ownership, vendor selection, logistics management, and relationship building with senior executives and internal stakeholders. The manager also takes responsibility for developing brand and messaging strategies consistent with the firm's positioning, providing guidance on content and speaker management, and ensuring event success from conception through post-event evaluation. Moreover, adherence to the firm’s processes and regulatory requirements is a critical aspect of the role, contributing to the firm’s reputation and operational integrity.

Goldman Sachs offers this position in Jersey City, New Jersey, with a competitive salary range between $85,000 and $140,000 annually plus the potential for discretionary bonuses based on performance and employment status at fiscal year-end. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an event specialist in a fast paced environment, preferably with financial services experience
  • Knowledge in all aspects related to conferences and event management, including but not limited to budgeting, audio visual, stage production, registration, speaker management, and virtual event platforms

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Partner with global team to manage annual business strategy, event commercial management, service excellence, best practices and innovation opportunities for a portfolio of events
  • Plan select events across the firm – from budgeting to venue/vendor research and selection to logistics management to execution
  • Own and manage relationship with key internal stakeholders including senior executives
  • Build and maintain accurate and thorough annual budget and adherence to that budget, manage weekly approvals with global team, and manage regular financial reporting
  • Develop brand and messaging strategy consistent with firm’s brand positioning
  • Provide guidance to event host on content, speakers and presentation ideas
  • Take ownership and be accountable for overall success of the event
  • Proactively follow-up on post event evaluation
  • Protect the firm’s and business’ reputation, and adherence to the firm’s processes and regular review of regulatory requirements
