Job Description
Ramp is a dynamic financial technology company headquartered in New York, NY, dedicated to building smart infrastructure for finance teams. Ramp integrates deeply into the transaction flows of businesses, automating the management of over $200 billion in annualized spending across more than 70,000 companies. Its platform empowers businesses by authorizing payments, flagging risks, categorizing expenditures, and streamlining financial close processes. Operating at the forefront of fintech innovation, Ramp addresses complex, data-intensive financial challenges that demand precision and agility.
Ramp fosters a culture that values high agency and urgency, attracting professionals who prefer building impactful solutions and owning problems end-to-end rather than relying on previous credentials alone. Ramp is committed to continuously enhancing its platform to help companies save money and accelerate growth, with its median customer experiencing 5% savings and a 16% increase in revenue within the first year. This commitment underscores Ramp's mission to empower ambitious companies by providing them with transformative financial tools.
The position available is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York City, offering a competitive base salary ranging from $132,000 to $181,000 along with equity options. The role resides within the Marketing department and focuses on event management, blending responsibilities across internal employee engagement, recruiting, and community events. Candidates can expect to work from the New York HQ event space 2-3 evenings per week during peak seasons.
As a pivotal member of the People team at Ramp, the Event Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of events that resonate with Ramp’s culture and values. These include internal employee events such as culture celebrations and holiday parties, recruiting events like candidate days and hiring fairs, plus team-specific functions designed to attract outstanding talent within New York City and beyond. This role demands a proactive and highly organized operator capable of designing programs from the ground up, collaborating cross-functionally with People, Recruiting, Engineering, and leadership stakeholders to ensure seamless event delivery and impactful experiences.
The Event Manager will take full ownership of event logistics including venue selection, vendor negotiation, catering coordination, run-of-show management, communications, and on-site execution. Additionally, the role involves building scalable processes and templates to improve the efficiency and consistency of the events calendar. Continuous improvement is vital; the Event Manager will track event metrics and solicit feedback to enhance the employee and candidate experience. Budget management and resource allocation also fall under this role, ensuring high-quality events that align with financial constraints.
Ramp prides itself on a fast-paced, innovative work environment that values initiative, collaboration, and a growth mindset. Ideal candidates are self-starters who excel in ambiguous settings, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with executives and colleagues at all levels are essential. Candidates with experience in a high-growth tech or startup context, and familiarity with HR or applicant tracking systems such as Ashby, Workday, or Greenhouse, will find this role particularly rewarding and aligned with their skillset.
This opportunity at Ramp offers a chance to be part of a cutting-edge company revolutionizing financial operations for businesses worldwide. Interested professionals passionate about event management and employee engagement in a tech-centric, mission-driven environment are encouraged to apply. Ramp’s comprehensive benefits package further supports employee well-being, including flexible PTO, health and wellness stipends, and extensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for U.S. employees. If you want to contribute to shaping innovative systems that control billions of dollars in business spending while cultivating meaningful workplace experiences, this role at Ramp is the perfect match.
