Position: Restaurant Sous Chef

About: Boqueria Restaurant is a leading Spanish tapas restaurant group with locations on the East Coast, including NYC, DC, Chicago, Nashville, Boston, and West Hartford, and an upcoming opening in Atlanta in Fall 2024. Boqueria offers a lively tapas bar experience inspired by the vibrant atmosphere and delicious food of Barcelona’s ‘Kioskos’ near the famous ‘El Mercado de la Boqueria’. The restaurant focuses on creating tempting versions of classic Spanish tapas and small plates using the best seasonal ingredients, promoting a shared dining experience for friends, family, and colleagues.

Requirements: + Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience at comparable/casual upscale restaurants or scratch kitchens; Highly proficient with cooking appliances and advanced knowledge of culinary techniques; Knowledge of par levels, best ordering practices, and effective inventory management with a high attention to ingredient quality; Basic knowledge and understanding of financial implications including P&L, COGs, labor, and operational excellence; Intuitive understanding of restaurant service; Extensive food knowledge; State required food safety certifications; Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Excel; Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan ahead; Strong leadership abilities (clear vision, active listening, assertive communication, empathetic and responsive); Motivated by a strong internal drive to achieve success;
