Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Prior hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Proficient in using a calculator and performing mathematical calculations
- Strong customer service skills with ability to handle difficult situations
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to operate computer systems for data entry
- Physical ability to stand for 95 percent of the shift
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and walking
- Must maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Must follow all safety and security procedures and rules
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Skill in using a calculator for moderately complex mathematical calculations
- Ability to effectively deal with customers with patience, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
Job Duties
- Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
- Complete registration process by inputting and retrieving guest information
- Verify credit cards for authorization using electronic methods
- Handle cash, make change and balance assigned house bank
- Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts
- Answer telephone promptly and communicate messages to guests
- Close guest accounts at checkout and ensure guest satisfaction
- Field guest complaints and develop effective solutions
- Adhere to all company policies, safety and security procedures
- Maintain neat and well-groomed appearance
- Assist other front desk personnel when needed
- Perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
