Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient in using a calculator and performing mathematical calculations
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to handle difficult situations
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to operate computer systems for data entry
  • Physical ability to stand for 95 percent of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and walking
  • Must maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Must follow all safety and security procedures and rules
  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Skill in using a calculator for moderately complex mathematical calculations
  • Ability to effectively deal with customers with patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Complete registration process by inputting and retrieving guest information
  • Verify credit cards for authorization using electronic methods
  • Handle cash, make change and balance assigned house bank
  • Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts
  • Answer telephone promptly and communicate messages to guests
  • Close guest accounts at checkout and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Field guest complaints and develop effective solutions
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety and security procedures
  • Maintain neat and well-groomed appearance
  • Assist other front desk personnel when needed
  • Perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
