Job Description
Jackson's Miami Transplant Institute (MTI) is a premier medical center located in Miami, Florida, dedicated exclusively to organ transplantation. Established in 1970, MTI is recognized as the only center in Florida performing all types of organ transplants including heart, lung, heart-lung, kidney, pancreas, kidney-pancreas, liver, intestinal, and multi-visceral transplants. With nearly five decades of experience, particularly in liver transplantation with over 4,000 liver transplants performed since 1988, the Miami Transplant Institute ranks among the highest volume transplant centers in the United States. The Institute’s commitment is to provide exceptional surgical, medical, and rehabilitation care to its patients, ensuring high standards of quality and outcomes that consistently place its programs among the nation’s best for both pediatric and adult patients.
This full-time, day-shift position at 1801 NW 9th Avenue, Miami, Florida offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a world-class transplant team. The PG Receptionist is the first point of contact for all patients visiting the Miami Transplant Institute, playing a pivotal role in delivering efficient, compassionate, and professional customer service. This role involves managing patient check-ins through the electronic health record (EHR) system, collecting and scanning necessary identification and insurance documentation, processing payments such as copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and past due balances, and scheduling new and follow-up appointments. Additionally, the PG Receptionist is responsible for confirming appointments, verifying insurance eligibility daily, managing communications such as incoming faxes and messages, and assisting with medical records requests. The role also supports therapists by scheduling tests and ancillary services and ensuring that all required authorizations for services are secured. Demonstrating excellent customer service aligned with the Miami Transplant Institute’s CARE values—Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Expertise—is fundamental to success in this position. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop skills in a fast-paced clinical environment that emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care. Those with up to three years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply. A high school diploma is strongly preferred, along with the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively, communicate with clarity, handle stressful situations tactfully, and utilize relevant technology proficiently. As an equal opportunity employer, Jackson Health System welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, sex, religion, or any other legally protected status, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace environment.
