Atlanta Hall Management, Inc. is the esteemed organization that operates the national College Football Hall of Fame, established by the National Football Foundation in 1951. This iconic institution commemorates and immortalizes the greatest players and coaches in college football history, serving as inspirational role models and preserving the rich traditions and legacy of the game. Relocated to Atlanta in 2014, the Hall of Fame’s mission is to inspire and entertain by celebrating the passion, history, and achievements of college football legends. It offers visitors an immersive, interactive, and engaging experience that honors the sport’s heritage and its outstanding contributors. The organization is a non-profit dedicated to sustaining the legacy of college football through educational and entertaining exhibits and events.

We are currently seeking an experienced Event Planning Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Event Sales, this role is pivotal in ensuring the flawless coordination and execution of events hosted at the Hall. The successful candidate will bring a passion for event management, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position involves close collaboration with the Event Operations team and various internal departments to meet and exceed client expectations. The Event Planning Manager will lead all event phases—from initial planning, coordination, and vendor management to on-site execution and post-event follow-up—ensuring every detail aligns with brand standards and delivers a high-quality experience for attendees.

The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and both internal and external partners, including third-party vendors such as catering, audiovisual services, security, and custodial teams. The role requires strong communication skills and professionalism in managing relationships to ensure seamless event experiences. Additionally, the Event Planning Manager will work closely with sales and marketing to align objectives, proactively recommend event enhancements such as upgraded AV packages, themed décor, food and beverage options, VIP experiences, and premium spaces, ultimately driving business growth and client satisfaction.

This role demands a resourceful, innovative, and proactive approach to event execution, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under shifting deadlines. The Event Planning Manager will also develop and oversee event timelines, budgets, and reporting metrics, as well as mentor and supervise event coordinators and support staff. On special occasions, travel arrangements for Hall of Fame members attending events will be coordinated. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years related event planning experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and event management software
  • Ability to work traditional and non-traditional hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years related event planning experience required preferably within the Atlanta market
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of local and regional markets venue operations and events operations standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects at any given time with competing deadlines
  • Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events and communicate with event operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and event management software such as Tripleseat
  • Ability to work traditional and non-traditional hours including nights weekends and holidays as necessary

Job Duties

  • Lead all aspects of event management from initial planning to on-site execution and post-event follow up
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal/external partners including third-party vendors such as catering AV security and custodial teams treating each with professionalism and responsiveness
  • Coordinate event logistics including venue setup vendor management staffing and on-site troubleshooting
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align event objectives and ensure seamless execution
  • Proactively present and recommend enhancements and upsell opportunities that align with client needs and exceed expectations including enhanced AV packages themed decor or branding opportunities food and beverage upgrades VIP experiences or guided tours extended time blocks or premium spaces
  • Develop and manage event timelines budgets and reporting metrics
  • Supervise and mentor event coordinators and support staff
  • Ensure all events align with brand standards and deliver a high-quality experience for attendees
  • Assist in organizing travel arrangements for Hall of Fame members attending special events throughout the year
  • Other duties as assigned
