We are currently seeking a skilled Events Manager to join our dynamic marketing team. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of Geotab’s extensive global event portfolio, including managing industry events that propel our key business objectives and reflect the vision of our executive leadership. The Events Manager will spearhead the evolution of Geotab’s global event ecosystem with a focus on maximizing the impact and operational efficiency of annual signature events such as Geotab Connect. Responsibilities include owning the end-to-end event experience from pre-planning to detailed post-event analysis, managing vendor relations and budgets, and coordinating cross-functional efforts with internal teams such as Business Development, Product, Strategic Accounts, PR, Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Multimedia design.

This role demands a hands-on, results-driven approach to event management complemented by expert project management skills. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, particularly in developing strategic keynote presentations and main stage productions that compellingly communicate corporate messages. As a Cvent subject matter expert, the Events Manager will also optimize event websites and attendee engagement tools to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for diverse, high-profile audiences. Maintaining a comprehensive industry network, analyzing market trends, and continuously innovating event strategies to deliver superior value and customer satisfaction are integral to driving growth and business retention through high-standard event execution. This position requires periodic travel mainly within the US and offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $125,000 USD annually, with opportunities for additional compensation including equity and other benefits tailored to the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of event management experience
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Strong communication skills

  • Willingness to travel 15-20%

  • Proficient with event management tools like Cvent
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in event management
  • Cvent certification preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • CMP designation highly valued

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage industry events for key portfolios including pre-planning event execution and post-event reporting
  • Manage vendor event budget and handle invoicing with accurate budget reports
  • Lead elements of Geotab's marquee annual event, Geotab Connect
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Product, Strategic Accounts and other internal teams
  • Support day-to-day liaison with production vendors
  • Drive strategic development of keynotes and main stage productions with senior leaders
  • Serve as Cvent subject matter expert and configure event websites and attendee tools
  • Monitor industry trends and provide recommendations
  • Maintain and build vendor, contact, and venue database
  • Develop event-specific organizational tools and coordinate event teams
  • Manage vendor relationships aligning production with brand guidelines and budgets
  • Consult with sales stakeholders for strategic goal alignment
  • Lead event content creation and communication materials
  • Update and maintain global events calendar
  • Deliver programs to high standards and encourage innovative event planning
  • Support global strategic initiatives
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction and retain business through repeat events
