Job Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges faced by everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). With a mission focused on funding cutting-edge research, advocating for change, facilitating professional education, collaborating with MS organizations worldwide, and providing supportive programs and services, the Society plays a pivotal role in improving the lives of people with MS and their families. By partnering closely with volunteers and leveraging community support, the Society successfully advances its goals through impactful engagement and dedicated efforts. As a well-respected institution, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society emphasizes an inclusive work environment where diversity and authentic individuality are celebrated and encouraged.
The role of Coordinator within the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Southeast Region, specifically for the Georgia Chapter, is a vital position focused on enhancing community engagement and driving revenue through the Society’s various Community Event campaigns such as Walk MS, Hike MS, and Climb to the Top. This role also includes Endurance Event campaigns like Bike MS, Challenge Walk MS, and Finish MS marathons. The Coordinator works collaboratively with internal teams and volunteers to ensure smooth event logistics, deliver compelling participant experiences, and maintain robust community involvement. This market-based position demands a balance of remote work and in-person attendance, requiring approximately 50% travel and physical presence at meetings, constituent interactions, and events primarily in the Atlanta, GA area.
The Coordinator serves as a key link between volunteers, donors, vendors, and internal departments to foster meaningful connections and event success. Responsibilities extend to volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, vendor coordination, inventory management, and donor stewardship in support of the organization's mission. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple aspects of event planning and execution, including materials development, onsite staffing, and adherence to standard operating procedures to enhance team efficiency and donor experience.
Offered with a competitive annual salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 based on geographic location and experience, this position also includes a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits encompass generous paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match, commuter benefits, and comprehensive health and welfare coverage including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage, and access to a mental health support program through Spring Health. Joining the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a Coordinator means contributing to an impactful cause, working alongside a passionate and mission-focused team, and enjoying career development opportunities through transparent pathways designed to foster growth either as a people leader or an individual contributor. This is an opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals affected by MS while advancing your career in a supportive and inclusive environment.
