The Community Lifestyle Director role at FirstService Residential is a full-time, exempt position that plays a pivotal part in enhancing the resident experience by developing, promoting, and managing various social and lifestyle programs within the community. The position is responsible for planning and executing HOA social events and programs, as well as overseeing Charter Club activities to enrich community life and foster engagement among residents. The Lifestyle Director's responsibilities extend to managing facility scheduling, social communication platforms, and website management to ensure seamless community interaction and information flow. This role requires strong organizational skills to coordinate events, budgets, vendor relationships, and volunteer programs effectively. The ideal candidate has a background in recreation, hospitality, marketing, event planning, or communications, coupled with experience working with HOAs or active adult programming. The Lifestyle Director works closely with residents, clubs, and neighborhood organizations to maximize participation and satisfaction. The role requires compliance with company standards, ethical conduct, and adherence to safety and operational policies. Salary ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, and comprehensive benefits include medical plans, dental, vision, paid holidays, time off, and a 401k with company match. Open availability, including weekends and on-call duties, is required to successfully meet the demands of this dynamic and engaging position.

Job Requirements

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and climb as required
  • Ability to work at a computer and speak on the phone for extended periods
  • Willingness to work extended, flexible hours and weekends
  • Must be on call as needed
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license
  • Open availability

Job Qualifications

  • Major in recreation, hospitality, marketing, event planning, or communication fields preferred
  • College level courses in business or hospitality preferred
  • General knowledge of computer systems, software, registration processes, policies, procedures, equipment, materials and products
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities, and advanced communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Publisher, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Three to five years of related work experience with HOAs and/or active adult programming
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in budgetary development and management

Job Duties

  • Plan, promote and implement resident programs and special community-wide events
  • Solicit input and involvement from residents to stimulate participation and awareness of lifestyle opportunities including Charter Clubs
  • Assist residents, chartered clubs, and neighborhood organizations in the scheduling of Association facilities, including program and room requirements, coordination with other departments, and fee arrangements
  • Oversee orientation for new owners
  • Develop and distribute the Association newsletter and other lifestyle public relations and marketing publications
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for lifestyle programs, events, music licenses, and corporate card usage to ensure financial sustainability
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, service providers, and partners
  • Ensure service agreements and insurance requirements are met
  • Provide leadership assistance to Charter Clubs ensuring compliance
  • Assist in the charter application process
  • Develop and manage an active volunteer program among residents, including promotion and recognition
  • Manage the website and Website Assistant Team providing technical support
  • Coordinate all other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards and maintain high personal, professional, and ethical conduct
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by management
  • Perform special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned
