Job Description
Allstate is a leading insurance company with a rich history spanning more than 90 years, dedicated to protecting families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. Known for its innovative approach and commitment to customer safety, Allstate has been at the forefront of advocating for seat belts, air bags, and graduated driving laws. The company prides itself on using advanced technology and sophisticated pricing methods to meet the evolving needs of its customers. Today, Allstate continues to lead in areas such as telematics and device and identity protection, reinforcing its reputation as an industry pioneer.
As a Field Property Adjuster at Allstate, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to policyholders. This position involves traveling to customers' homes to perform on-site inspections, investigate coverage details, prepare damage estimates, and settle claims efficiently and fairly. In addition to physical inspections, you will manage virtual claims from across the country by leveraging various digital platforms and software tools like Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your specialized expertise in water losses will enable you to support customers facing these particular claims with professionalism and care.
The Field Property Adjuster role is multifaceted, requiring you to act as a customer service expert, an investigator, an effective communicator, a negotiator, a problem solver, and a diligent recorder. You will embody Allstate’s Claims Culture by showing compassion, empowering policyholders, and restoring their lives after loss. Independent investigation of property damage and interpreting insurance policies to determine coverage is a key responsibility, while maintaining clear, empathetic communication through phone, email, and video chats ensures a streamlined claims process tailored to customer preferences.
Negotiating settlements involves working with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants using sound business practices, especially in challenging or complex situations. Critical thinking and quick problem-solving are essential to navigate the fast-paced environment successfully, utilizing a variety of estimating tools and settlement platforms. Accurately documenting all claim activities protects the company financially and maintains compliance with policy agreements.
This role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to travel, and physical readiness to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with up to a 6/12 pitch. Employees receive comprehensive training, including about two weeks of initial instruction in Dallas, TX, as well as ongoing development opportunities to enhance skills. Licensing may be required depending on the office location, with Allstate providing support to secure necessary adjuster or appraiser licenses.
Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $98,450 annually, based on experience and qualifications, with additional incentive pay opportunities. Allstate offers a comprehensive benefits package from day one, including health care, retirement plans, education reimbursement, and policies supporting work-life balance. A company car may be available depending on mileage requirements, and mileage reimbursements are offered for personal vehicle use. Joining Allstate means becoming part of a team committed to making a meaningful impact, pushing professional boundaries, and supporting causes that matter both personally and to the community.
