The College is actively seeking adjunct or substitute faculty members to join the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Department. This specific position, titled Adjunct/Substitute - Baking/Pastry Pool, is designed to support the department’s instructional needs by teaching baking and pastry courses across multiple times and locations, including online and dual-credit/early college classes. The employment type is adjunct faculty with compensation provided as an adjunct stipend. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in baking & pastry from an accredited institution
- Three years work experience in baking & pastry
- Current ServSafe Manager or Texas Certified Food Manager certification for lab instructors required to instruct culinary and/or baking/pastry courses
- Residents must reside in the state of Texas
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Baking & Pastry from an accredited institution
- Three years work experience in Baking & Pastry
- Current ServSafe Manager or Texas Certified Food Manager certification for lab instructors required to instruct Culinary and/or Baking/Pastry courses
- Demonstrated skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline
- Preferred successful college teaching experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction
Job Duties
- Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction
- Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes
- Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
- Teach lecture and laboratory courses as assigned
