Job Description

The Heritage at Brentwood is a premier senior living community dedicated to providing high-quality residential care and services for seniors. Located in a vibrant and welcoming environment, The Heritage at Brentwood offers a blend of comfort, companionship, and exceptional amenities designed to enhance the lives of its residents. The community caters to a wide range of senior living needs including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care through its affiliated Somerfield Health Center, which is a 5-star rated facility. The community provides multiple dining venues such as Fireside Grille, Southern Oak, Steeplechase Lounge, Corner Market, and Poplar Hall, to offer a variety of dining experiences that meet the tastes and nutritional needs of residents. The Heritage places a strong emphasis on creating a supportive and engaging environment, investing not only in its residents but also in the professional growth and satisfaction of its employees.

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Cook to join our esteemed culinary team on a full-time basis. This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $24.00 and a flexible work schedule with no late-night shifts, promoting a balanced lifestyle for our team members. In this role, you will work directly under the guidance of the Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of pastries, baked goods, and desserts that delight our residents and guests. Your responsibilities will include crafting daily specials, supporting special events within the community, and ensuring all food products are made according to standard recipes as well as any special dietary orders. Attention to detail in quality and presentation is paramount, as you contribute to the outstanding dining experiences our community is known for.

In addition to baking, you will be tasked with organizing pastry production to ensure it is cost-effective and efficient, while rigorously adhering to all health and safety standards. Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary workstation is critical, alongside upholding the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress code compliance. Familiarity with the proper operation and maintenance of kitchen tools and equipment is essential to excel in this role. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in baking pastries, breads, and desserts from scratch, preferably in environments such as hotels, restaurants, or country clubs. Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work independently or within a collaborative team environment are necessary. Candidates must also be comfortable sharing photographic samples of their dessert and pastry creations to demonstrate their skill set.

Joining The Heritage at Brentwood means becoming a part of a supportive and forward-thinking company that truly values its employees. We offer a better working environment than typical hotels and restaurants, where staff are respected and included as vital members of our community. By working here, you will have the unique opportunity to engage with our residents and hear their inspiring life stories, enriching your work experience beyond just a culinary role. We invest in the ongoing development of our team, aiming for mutual growth and success as we build the future of senior living together.
