Job Description
Centre Law & Consulting (Centre) is a distinguished legal consulting firm that combines extensive legal expertise with practical federal contracting experience. The company specializes in assisting government and industry clients in navigating the intricate and often complex maze of federal rules and regulations. Centre focuses on delivering federal market solutions that are efficient, timely, and legally effective, helping their clients achieve compliance and success in federal contracting and legal processes. The firm is known for its dedication to excellence and its ability to blend legal knowledge with practical application in various federal sectors. Centre has established itself as a trusted partner for federal agencies and private organizations seeking precise and reliable legal support, particularly in areas involving law enforcement and federal initiatives.
The available position at Centre is for a Paralegal/Legal Assistant II, a role integral to supporting the mission of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). The USAO is a federal agency that serves as the nation’s principal litigators under the direction of the Attorney General. This position involves working specifically within the Asset Forfeiture Section, a critical division responsible for prosecuting criminal and civil actions against property involved in illegal activities. As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant II, you will be part of a nationwide law enforcement initiative aimed at dismantling criminal enterprises by removing the tools and proceeds of crime. This effort not only impacts the infrastructure of criminal organizations but also supports broader law enforcement and justice goals.
In this capacity, you will assist attorneys by reviewing case materials, conducting legal research, drafting and editing documents, and preparing for trials. Your work will include organizing exhibits, creating statistical and photographic presentations for cases, interviewing witnesses, and attending pre-trial meetings to ensure cases are thoroughly prepared and any deficiencies are addressed. The role requires a strong ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy and citation, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Moreover, this position demands a professional demeanor, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and the capacity to maintain quality work standards under pressure.
This position is classified as a federal contracting role, and it requires U.S. citizenship as well as clearance through a minimum 7- or 10-year background investigation. It is an excellent opportunity for those interested in contributing to federal law enforcement efforts while advancing their legal careers within a dynamic and supportive consulting company. The Paralegal/Legal Assistant II role with Centre offers exposure to high-stakes legal processes and the rewarding experience of supporting justice initiatives that have a tangible impact on society.
