Set to open in September, this new clinic is part of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay's ongoing mission to enhance animal welfare through accessible, high-quality medical treatment and support for animals in need. The clinic serves as a vital resource for pet owners in the area, offering a full range of veterinary services staffed by experienced veterinarians and vet technicians who are passionate about animal care. As the clinic prepares to open its doors, it is seeking enthusiastic and professional individuals to join its team and contribute to a welcoming, efficient, and caring environment.
We are currently looking to hire a full-time Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the initial point of contact for all callers and visitors to the Animal Clinic. This role holds significant importance, as it represents the first impression that current and potential clients will experience either by phone or in person. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering superb customer service while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. This position requires maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, recognizing the various emotional states clients may experience, and working patiently with distressed or frustrated individuals. The role also involves coordinating communication between clients, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians, scheduling appointments and procedures, managing client flow from check-in to discharge, and handling client callbacks and record requests.
The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours a week, including working some Saturdays. The hourly rate begins at $15.00, with a potential increase of up to $3.00 within the first nine months based on performance. Candidates should be well-organized, capable of multitasking, and comfortable lifting 50 pounds or more, reflecting the physical demands of the job. Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to maintain composure and compassion while dealing with a variety of client emotions is essential.
This opportunity offers a meaningful career path for individuals passionate about animal welfare and customer service. Working at the Animal Clinic provides a unique chance to be part of a team dedicated to improving the lives of pets and their owners in the Tampa Bay area. Please note that this is not a part-time role, and staffing agency inquiries will not be considered. Applicants are encouraged to apply directly and be part of a welcoming and supportive team making a difference in animal care and community health.
