Job Description

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is a pioneering and globally recognized facility specializing in comprehensive intergenerational care for individuals of all ages and abilities. Established over 40 years ago, St. Ann Center offers a unique, safe, and homelike environment that nurtures compassion, care, and dignity. The center serves a diverse community ranging from infants as young as six weeks to seniors over 100 years old. The organization prides itself on fostering connections across generations, making it the first of its kind in the United States and a leader in its field. The center has earned prestigious accolades such as the Best Intergenerational Award in 2016 and high praise from community leaders, including Mayor Tom Barrett, who described it as "the closest place to heaven on earth," emphasizing the inclusive and loving atmosphere that celebrates every individual for who they are.

The Fund Development Manager at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care plays a critical role in sustaining and expanding the organization’s mission through strategic fundraising and public relations efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Mission Officer, this full-time, exempt position involves a commitment of 40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. The Fund Development Manager is responsible for collaborating closely with the Leadership Team and Board of Directors to plan, coordinate, and implement all aspects of fundraising initiatives. These initiatives include special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation, and grant writing.

This position demands a visionary leader who can identify new funding opportunities and diversify revenue streams from corporations, public and private organizations, faith communities, and individual donors. The Fund Development Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive annual resource development plan approved by the board, incorporating strategies tailored to various donor constituencies. Monitoring and reporting progress on fundraising goals to leadership and the board ensures transparency and accountability.

Grant-related responsibilities include researching funding sources, writing proposals, and managing grant compliance and reporting. The role also encompasses gift cultivation strategies to build a sustainable donor base by implementing major gifts programs, planned giving initiatives, and volunteer giving. Maintaining accurate donor database information, producing acknowledgment letters, and updating marketing collateral materials are essential to strengthen donor relationships.

The manager will also oversee or directly manage all fundraising events, coordinating with staff and volunteers to ensure successful execution and actively promoting these events in the business community to maximize support. Sponsorship solicitation and engagement is another key responsibility.

In addition to fundraising duties, the Fund Development Manager leads public relations and marketing efforts. This includes writing press releases, maintaining media contacts, managing social media presence, directing media production, and enhancing the overall branding of St. Ann Center and its programs. Building strong communication channels with community groups, managed funds organizations, business leaders, grant funders, and faith-based organizations is fundamental to advancing the center’s visibility and outreach.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, marketing, public relations, or a related field, alongside two to five years of relevant fundraising and development experience. Familiarity with the Greater Milwaukee Area and existing local contacts will be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database systems is essential, as is the ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate is a confident public speaker and communicator, capable of inspiring, training, motivating, and supervising volunteers. A team-oriented mindset and dedication to promoting St. Ann Center’s values of inclusivity and respect are paramount. The organization champions diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care welcomes you to join a leading institution that not only delivers innovative care but also fosters a supportive and loving community environment where no one is alone and everyone is celebrated.
