Position: Assistant Deli Manager

At Uncle Giuseppe’s our passion is pleasing our customers with a great food experience! We have an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Deli Manager to work alongside our Deli Manager at our Tinton Falls, NJ Store.
This fast paced position requires a love for food and a passion to provide exceptional customer service! You will:
• Assist in the Deli Department, cutting meats and cheeses, preparing salads, assisting customers with attention to the total operations of the department
• Supervise employees in various duties such as cooking, serving, packaging and operating counters
• Manage product storage, maintenance and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages
• Assist in preparation of inventory
• Schedule and assign works for associates on daily basis
• Assist in interviewing, hiring and training associates
• Provide training to staff on company policies and sales guidelines
• Respond to queries and complaints from both customer and employee, working with employees to operate the Deli counter
• Ensure employees follow company policies and store rules
• Develop sales promotion programs to attract more customers
• Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates
• Monitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under stock problems
• Operate all food preparation machines and equipment
• Receive, unload and stock the food items
• Ensure that facility is maintained neat, clean and safe
• Other duties and functions as assigned
Requirements:
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a busy Deli with at least 1 of those years in a management position
• Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• May be required to lift objects up to 30 pounds and spend the duration of the shift on your feet
