Position: Sous Chef job
About: American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is seeking Sous Chefs to join their shipboard team for the 2025 season. The shipboard team supports a fleet of ships offering various itineraries, from contemporary riverboats to paddlewheel queens for a unique steamboat experience. Sous Chefs play a key role in preparing exceptional cuisine using fresh ingredients inspired by regional specialties, working closely with a team of culinary professionals to ensure top-notch dining experiences for guests on board.
Requirements: Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in full-service resort, hotel, or cruise ship; Familiarity with food safety standards; Ability to multitask, follow directions, and work well in a team environment; Capability to work under pressure, problem-solve, stay organized, and understand cooking recipes; Effective leadership and time management skills; Excellent oral communication and interpersonal abilities; Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing and criminal background checks; Training and teaching experience; Flexibility for a work rotation of 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by 1 to 2 weeks off.
