Position: Sous Chef job
About: DoubleTree By Hilton Torrance – South Bay in Torrance, CA is looking for a Sous Chef to join our team. Requirements: Experience working as a Sous Chef preferred; thorough knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation; ability to read, write, and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions; finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery; ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 200 lbs. on a continuous schedule; coordination of skills to ensure success of banquet functions; high familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines; able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed; adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume; culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred; flexible schedule is a must, to include weekends and holidays
