About: American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is looking to add Sous Chefs to their shipboard team for the 2025 season. The shipboard team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing through various itineraries across the nation, offering a range from contemporary riverboats to paddlewheel queens for a unique steamboat experience. Exceptional cuisine is prepared by chefs with extensive culinary credentials and training from prestigious culinary institutes, using only the freshest ingredients to create inspired menus based on regional and local specialties. Sous Chefs play a vital role in the culinary team, responsible for producing high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the main restaurant, ensuring culinary excellence in all food served throughout the vessel and collaborating with the kitchen team to provide flawless service to guests.

Requirements: Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a full-service resort, hotel, or cruise ship required; familiarity with food safety standards; ability to multitask, take direction, and work as a team player; capacity to work under pressure with problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organization; proficiency in reading, understanding, and executing basic cooking recipes; effective time management and leadership skills; excellent oral communication and interpersonal abilities; willingness to undergo pre-employment drug tests and complete criminal background checks; experience in training and teaching; availability for a work rotation of 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by 1 to 2 weeks off
