Position: Preschool Kitchen Manager

About: Coordinate and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to preschool children each school day, maintain accurate records and files, order/purchase food and other items, inventory and track items delivered, store items, keep kitchen and storage areas clean and stocked, train employees and volunteers, respond to concerns, attend workshops and meetings, plan and implement menus, and ensure the kitchen complies with various regulations at a location on Sigourney Street in Hartford, CT

Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of cooking experience are required; QFO (qualified food operator)/ServeSafe certification required; ability to maintain confidentiality; able to read and follow standardized recipes and instructions; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure; ability to work collaboratively with others; basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience working with the population served preferred; fluency in English language required, Spanish speaking ability preferred; must be empathetic and caring; must complete required training upon hire; organized, able to multi-task, and strong communication skills; strong knowledge of proper food handling; supervisory experience preferred; valid driver’s license preferred
