Position: Pastry Cook
About: Milk Bar is the sister bakery of the Momofuku Restaurant Group. Since its opening in November 2008, we have focused on putting a playful and approachable spin on familiar, home-style desserts and savory snacks using quality ingredients. If you’re looking for a challenging yet supportive environment, we want to hear from you! The Pastry Cook reports to the Kitchen Manager and is responsible for producing all Milk Bar’s baked goods. We love our jobs and are looking for like-minded, hard-working individuals that are up for any job, big or small, be it mixing 180 qts of cookie dough or gallons upon gallons of cereal milk. For this position you will most definitely be arm-deep in cookie dough and cake batter!
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a bakery or pastry environment preferred; strong passion for baking and high-quality ingredients; ability to follow recipes meticulously; knowledge of kitchen equipment operation; excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and cleanliness; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; willingness to participate in opening and closing cleaning duties; knowledge of inventory management principles
