Position: Kitchen Supervisor Juvenile Court Detention Unit – Juvenile Court Judge
About: Under general supervision, oversees, manages, maintains and participates in the day-to-day supervision and operation of the Detention Center kitchen and related areas at Juvenile Court Detention Unit in Hamilton County, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Requirements: The equivalent of a high school diploma and one (1) year of institutional cooking that included management, supervisory, budget, and inventory control responsibilities; applicants must be eligible to receive a Food Handlers Permit within three months of employment; extensive criminal background and reference checks required; must become and remain certified in CPR and First Aid; incumbent may be required to work overtime and become certified in certain unarmed physical restraint techniques; work involves lifting and carrying heavy, bulky pots, pans, crates, and cartons of food supplies weighing up to 80 pounds; employees exposed to extreme heat and cold as well as potential injury from sharp kitchen utensils; requires regular and punctual attendance; work may include weekends, holidays, irregular hours, shift work, and overtime.
