Position: Kitchen Manager, Elementary
About: The Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Nutrition Services Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations under the guidance of the Nutrition Services Director. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, providing leadership to staff, and maintaining a positive working environment for students and employees.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; possess a current Washington State Food Workers Card; ability to operate a computer; 6 months total step-up or temporary managing in VPS kitchens, 3 months of consistent step-up or temporary managing in VPS kitchens within the last 5 years, at least 9 months total cooking in VPS kitchens within the last 5 years, at least 13 months of consistent, documented quantity cooking experience in any other foodservice establishment within the last 2 years; excellent customer service skills, ability to work effectively as a team leader, meet deadlines, handle stressful situations, self-motivated, good organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, able to plan, direct, and evaluate work, problem-solving abilities, physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and move efficiently in a kitchen environment.
