Position: Executive Sous Chef
About: Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a Magnet hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, with a commitment to excellence within the OHSU Culture. OHSU is currently hiring for an Executive Sous Chef position reporting directly to the Executive Chef, overseeing daily operations at the OHSU Hospital Cafe and patient meal production.
Requirements: Formal training through cooking school, professional culinary institute, or a hospitality/culinary arts degree; 5 years experience as a chef with a focus on high-volume food production; effective communication skills; adept at time management, organization, and cost control; ability to provide excellent guest service; knowledge of food safety programs and sanitation practices; Certified Working Chef or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire; current county health department food handler’s card; current ServSafe certification; compliance with Code of Conduct and relevant policies and procedures; able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
