Position: Culinary Arts Adjunct Instructor
About: J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond is seeking a Culinary Arts Adjunct Instructor to join their team. The college serves Virginia’s capital city and surrounding counties, catering to approximately 13,000 credit students and 7,400 workforce training students annually. The institution is dedicated to fostering a racially diverse and culturally competent staff that mirrors the student body.
Requirements: Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts with proven teaching abilities; or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field. Five (5) years of experience as a Sous Chef or higher, overseeing a minimum of 5 employees within the last decade. Current ServSafe Certification. Proficiency in instructional technologies, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to embrace new technologies and cater to diverse student populations. Advanced expertise in savory food preparation, presentation, and baking. Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and cost control. Experience in HACCP, environmental hygiene, and supervisory roles in varied food service settings, including fine dining. ACF Certified Culinary Educator and/or community college teaching experience.
