Position: Classified – Kitchen Manager I – Ashbury Elementary School
About: Ensures the efficient operation of an elementary school or central kitchen in order to produce attractive and nutritious meals for students and staff.
Requirements: High school diploma or the equivalent and current certification by the American School Food Service Association preferred; Two years work experience in an institutional or school kitchen with progressive responsibility and supervisory experience; Approved educational coursework in food service supervision or related field may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis; General computer experience preferred; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees, students, school staff, and the general public; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to effectively supervise employees; Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; Ability to operate a computer, cashier terminal, PIN pad, and calculator; Working knowledge of sanitation, safety, and meal requirements of the Nebraska Department of Health and the United States Department of Agriculture School Lunch Program and Food Distribution Program; Ability to maintain detailed records as required by regulatory agencies
