Position: Banquet Chef

About: Coordinates, plans, and supervises the production, plating, and presentation of food at all banquet events and dining rooms at The Faculty Club in a cost-effective, safe manner to exceed customer expectations and attract future business. Responsible for ensuring safety standards and regulations are followed, assuming Executive Chef responsibilities in their absence, supervising and training culinary staff, and maintaining sanitation standards. The position involves leadership and collaboration to promote a positive working environment, including managing a diverse unionized workforce. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing training programs, overseeing performance expectations, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. This role is crucial in meeting the mission and core values of The Faculty Club and ensuring high-quality banquet operations in adherence to health and safety regulations.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; operational experience with industrial kitchen equipment; culinary degree and/or associate degree in hospitality or business; minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in fine dining operations, ideally in a hotel and/or club environment; strong management skills with a focus on high-end banquet execution; proven leadership and people skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel; experience managing in a unionized environment; knowledge of Kronos timekeeping software or a similar system.
