Position: AJs Chef de Cuisine
About: Prairie Meadows is looking for a Chef De Cuisine to join AJ’s Steakhouse, a high-volume upscale restaurant known for quality dining experiences.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s or related culinary degree preferred; Minimum of three years’ experience as a Chef or Sous Chef; Experience in large full-service, upscale, high-volume restaurant kitchen; Experience with collective bargaining environment preferred; Excellent dietary, cooking, supervisory, and customer service skills preferred; Knowledge of Iowa Department of Health regulations is required; Serv Safe certification required; Must be skilled in plating and presentation, as well as menu development with budgeted food costs; Must possess knowledge of labor management and inventory control; Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and working knowledge of P&L statements and Agilysys software; Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail; Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere and communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds; Must be physically fit to stand, walk, lift heavy items, and work in various environmental conditions, including weekends, holidays, and varied hours.
