Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of management experience in the restaurant, entertainment or hospitality industry
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities as evaluated by current General Manager, Area Director and Vice President
  • Business acumen to operate successfully a high-volume business
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Responsible alcohol service and food safety certifications as required
  • Kitchen managers must have current alcohol and food certification that meets state requirements
  • Ability to stand and exert mobility for periods of up to 12 hours and lift 25-50 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage restaurant environment ensuring prompt and friendly service according to company guidelines
  • Breed a culture using the Vision / Mission statement to guide teamwork, results, integrity, and passion for service, fun, balance, innovation and being guest driven
  • Ensure the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints by self and staff
  • Refer all verbal and written guest complaints to Area Director
  • Ensure guest contact as a priority with self and staff utilizing a target goal of 100% table visitation
  • Teach and enforce alcohol awareness building positive relationship with local authorities by seeking assistance in alcohol related issues
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels
  • Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards
  • Actively participate in community to increase sales and awareness
  • Implement and execute incentive contests and educate associates on promotions and new menu offerings
  • Oversee and schedule associates to meet sales demands
  • Maintain effective safety and security programs
  • Promote and manage restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Institute preventative maintenance of all equipment and building and correct needed repairs
  • Advise Area Director of non-routine situations
  • Communicate with other managers daily
  • Comply with labor laws ensuring appropriate rest and meal breaks and work hours
  • Complete other assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Manage associate performance including recruitment, training, assessments, and evaluations
  • Ensure staffing levels using SQII and patterned interviews
  • Conduct exit, performance and safety meetings
  • Enforce company policies and promote timely communication
  • Maintain controls including administrative, accounting, asset control, compliance with laws, meeting operating budgets, managing contracts, capital expenditures, cash handling, inventory and costs
  • Prepare and submit accurate paperwork to leadership and departments
  • Develop cooperation and teamwork by building culture derived from Applebee’s Vision
  • Act as guest focused role model
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and complete assignments on schedule
  • Develop goals and action plans for growth
  • Serve as subject matter expert on store related technology
