Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as per Florida Senate SB 1310
- minimum two years of relevant experience or master’s degree with equivalent experience
- ability to work nights and weekends
- physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds
- compliance with employment eligibility requirements
- ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage detailed logistical responsibilities
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- experience with event budgeting and contract processing
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, hospitality management, business management, digital media, or related field
- minimum two years of relevant experience
- master’s degree with equivalent experience is acceptable
- three to five years of event planning experience preferred
- experience within higher education or nonprofit organizations preferred
- strong budgeting and contract negotiation skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage detailed logistics
Job Duties
- plan and organize donor-focused events including stewardship dinners, gift announcements, dedications, and naming ceremonies
- coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution
- conduct site visits and secure appropriate venues
- manage audiovisual needs, entertainment, décor, meal planning, and transportation
- oversee volunteer, staff, and student involvement by briefing and assigning roles
- advise on event timelines, scripts, and run-of-show schedules
- manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, oversee invoicing, and maintain financial documentation
