Job Description
Just Right! is a boutique destination management company (DMC) founded in 2011 with a vision of providing a unique and highly personalized approach to event planning and management. As a boutique DMC, Just Right! focuses on creating exceptional, tailored experiences for its clients by understanding their goals and company culture deeply. The company emphasizes collaboration, partnership, excellence, and balance, ensuring meaningful relationships with clients and industry partners, while fostering a supportive environment for its own team members. Just Right! prides itself on its client-centric approach, traveling alongside clients to various locations to deliver flawless events and become invaluable partners in their success.
The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, maintaining an Equal Opportunity Employment policy that prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law. This inclusive culture supports a welcoming and respectful workplace for all employees.
The Event Manager role at Just Right! DMC is integral to the planning and execution of the company's events. This position involves independently managing small to mid-scale events and assisting senior team members on larger, more complex programs. Event Managers work closely with clients to understand their needs, coordinate with a variety of vendors and venues to secure services, and contribute significantly to the development of proposals and budgets. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines to ensure smooth onsite logistics and overall program success.
Event Managers at Just Right! are responsible for developing and maintaining detailed timelines and related documents to safeguard seamless program execution. They coordinate with vendors and venues, confirm availability, finalize contracts, and manage the specific requirements of each event. The role also includes preparing accurate proposals, transportation manifests, and other supporting documentation necessary for client programs. Participation in site inspections is required to enhance program design and planning accuracy.
Onsite, Event Managers oversee vendor load-ins, manage guest flow, coordinate transportation, and problem-solve in real-time to maintain the highest standard of event delivery. Post-event responsibilities include tracking program expenses, gathering receipts and documentation, and assisting with billing reconciliation. To support operational efficiency, Event Managers must keep program files well-organized and accessible to the team.
Successful candidates will build and nurture strong relationships with vendors, venues, and industry partners, creating a network that aids in the smooth and professional execution of events. A deep knowledge of Just Right! DMC's pricing models, service offerings, and operational capabilities is key to supporting accurate and confident client communication.
This role requires excellent communication skills as Event Managers serve as consistent points of contact for clients and vendors throughout the planning process. They also represent Just Right! in all professional interactions, including client meetings, staff meetings, and industry networking events to foster team alignment and contribute to business development.
The position is remote, with most work performed from home, although occasional onsite work and travel for site inspections and client meetings are expected. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed based on program schedules. Reliable personal transportation with proper licensure is essential, as some travel by personal vehicle will be necessary.
Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including a generous flex time policy focused on maintaining a healthy work-life balance, a supportive work environment, health benefits fully covered by the employer, basic dental and vision insurance fully paid by the company, life insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, and opportunities for profit-sharing and financial bonuses. Supplemental benefits are also available at employee cost, enhancing the overall value and support provided to team members at Just Right! DMC.
