Position: Sous Chef job
About: American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is seeking Sous Chefs to join the shipboard team for the 2025 season. The shipboard team supports a fleet of ships sailing through various itineraries, offering a range of experiences from contemporary riverboats to paddlewheel queens for a steamboat adventure. The cuisine is crafted by chefs with extensive culinary credentials, trained in prestigious culinary institutes, using fresh and regional ingredients to create delicious menus.
Requirements: Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a full-service resort, hotel, or cruise ship; ServSafe Manager Certification strongly preferred; familiarity with food safety standards; ability to multitask, take direction, and work well in a team; composure under pressure; problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organization; effective leadership, time management, and communication skills; ability to follow cooking recipes and directions; pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check; training and teaching experience; work rotation of 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by 1 to 2 weeks off; Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
