Position: Sous Chef job

About: ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Sous Chef at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The Sous Chef is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of the hot kitchen, including scheduling employees.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or technical school culinary education and training; five years’ experience as a Chef managing fast-paced high volume kitchen operations; extensive experience managing food production for catering functions and retail, and/or training; ability to read and interpret documents; knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software; strong hospitality orientation; good work ethic; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks; ServSafe Certified and LEAD or ServeSMART Certified; ability to work varied and flexible shifts; DMV clearance in compliance with Savor’s policies; ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents; ability to present information effectively; ability to calculate food quantities needed and understand basic math; ability to read and perform standard and custom menus; problem-solving skills in various situations with limited standardization; ability to interpret instructions in various forms
