Position: Sous Chef job
About: GAP Ministries is currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and delivery of quality meals. The role includes collaboration on menu planning, recipe development, food preparation, staff supervision, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety standards. The Sous Chef is expected to exemplify and support the vision, mission, and core values of GAP Ministries in all aspects of kitchen operations, fostering an environment of respect, integrity, and accountability within the team.
Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old; ServSafe manager certified (or willing to obtain certification within 30 days of hire); Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Google Calendar, or similar software; Physically capable of performing kitchen duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods; Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team; Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse range of people, including staff, volunteers, clients, and external partners; Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving abilities; Alignment with GAP Ministries’ values, mission, and culture.
