Position: Sous Chef job
About: Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our team at Travers Wolfe (TW) at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. This late-night position involves overseeing kitchen operations for a diverse dining unit open from 5 PM to 1 AM, seven days a week. The unit features a Mexican concept, grill, pizza, deli, mac and cheese station, salad bar, dessert station, vending machines, and a mini c-store. Additionally, the unit is responsible for producing all grab-and-go packaged food for the campus, which is delivered to other locations by a driver. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with two other Sous Chefs and three front-of-house supervisors to ensure smooth operations, maintain food quality, and lead the team effectively.
Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role; strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, late-night kitchen environment; excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team; ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure; passion for food and innovation, with a customer-focused mindset; culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
