Position: Sous Chef job
About: Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Sous Chef for the 1700 Restaurant located inside Hotel Paso Del Norte in El Paso, TX. The job involves training, supervising, and actively participating in all food production areas of the kitchen to maintain high quality standards. The Sous Chef will coordinate, plan, and supervise the production, plating, and presentation of food at banquet events in a cost-effective and safe manner to exceed customer expectations and drive future business growth. This position reports to the Executive Chef at the hotel.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards; ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace; good communication skills, both verbal and written; basic computational ability; familiarity with creating buffet displays and culinary techniques; physical ability to handle kitchen equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in varying temperatures; understanding of food and beverage preparation and service; knowledge of sanitation standards and kitchen equipment operation.
