Position: SOUS CHEF I
About: UNC Charlotte Dining Services is looking for a Sous Chef I to join their team. This position involves assisting in planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The Sous Chef I will lead and train kitchen staff to meet operational objectives and customer satisfaction.
Requirements: Previous culinary experience, managing inventory, scheduling, ordering, production sheets, records, and temp logs; 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level; Knowledge of industry trends, food quality, cost controls, food safety, and presentation; Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills; ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred; Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred; Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
