Position: Sous Chef
About: ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sous Chef at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The Sous Chef is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of the hot kitchen, including scheduling employees. Please note that employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and union membership is a condition of employment.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or technical school culinary education and training; five years’ experience as a Chef managing fast-paced, high-volume kitchen operations; extensive experience managing food production for catering functions and retail, or training; ability to read and interpret documents; knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software; ServSafe Certified and LEAD or ServeSMART Certified; ability to work varied and flexible shifts; DMV clearance; ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials; ability to calculate food quantities, perform standard and custom menus; solve practical problems; interpret various instructions
