Position: Preschool Chef
About: Cooks at The Learning Experience in Hackensack, NJ prepare nutritionally balanced, family-style meals for children, following set menus, staying within budget, and adhering to state and federal nutritional requirements. The role requires mental and physical fitness to care for children who may not be able to care for themselves.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; ECE coursework preferred; At least 18 years of age; Relevant experience in a licensed childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, or public school cafeteria; Must meet state specific guidelines for the role; Have a food service/food handler’s permit or license according to state/local regulations; Proven judgment to address risks in a childcare setting; Demonstrated physical resilience to meet job demands
