Position: Preschool Chef
About: Cooks at The Learning Experience prepare nutritionally balanced, attractive family-style meals for children in Hackensack, NJ. This role involves following set menus, ordering food within budget constraints, and complying with state and federal nutritional requirements for children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their well-being and development.
Requirements: Must meet state specific guidelines for High School Diploma or GED required; ECE coursework preferred; Relevant experience in a licensed childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, public school cafeteria, or equivalent; Must have a food service/food handler’s permit or license according to state/local regulations; Follow state and federal guidelines including immunizations, employment physicals, and required health and safety training; Proven judgment to identify and address potential risks in a childcare setting; Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and demonstrate physical resilience in a childcare environment.
