Position: Preschool Chef
About: Cooks at The Learning Experience in Hackensack, NJ prepare nutritionally balanced, attractive family-style meals for children, ensuring compliance with state and federal nutritional requirements. The role requires mental and physical fitness to meet the demands of caring for children who may not be able to care for themselves.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; ECE coursework preferred; at least 18 years of age; relevant experience in a licensed childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, or public school cafeteria; must meet state-specific guidelines for the role; possess a food service/food handler’s permit or license according to state/local regulations; caregiving skills including child interaction, judgment to address risks, and promoting social skills; physical resilience to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, reach, climb, stoop, and maintain mental and physical alertness
